For long-distance moves, we suggest booking 4-6 weeks ahead. For international relocations, please allow 8-12 weeks for proper planning and coordination.

Last-minute moves can sometimes be accommodated depending on our schedule, but early booking ensures you get your preferred date and time.

Do you offer weekend or evening moving services?

Yes, HelpfulMoving.inc offers flexible scheduling including weekends and evenings to accommodate your timeline. Weekend and evening moves are available for an additional fee. These slots tend to book quickly, so we recommend securing your preferred time as early as possible.

How do you determine the cost of my move?

Our moving quotes are based on several factors:

  • Volume and weight of items being moved
  • Level of service requested (full-packing, partial packing, or self-packing)

  • Access conditions at both origin and destination
  • Seasonal demand

We provide free in-home estimates for accurate pricing and also offer virtual estimates for your convenience. Our quotes are transparent with no hidden fees.

Are there any additional fees I should be aware of?

HelpfulMoving.inc believes in transparent pricing. Our detailed estimate will outline all potential costs. Some situations that may incur additional fees include:

  • and any items that weigh more than 300lbs

Packing & Preparation

Do I need to empty my dresser drawers before the move?

For local moves, lightweight, non-fragile items can typically remain in dresser drawers. However, we recommend removing all items from drawers for:

  • Long-distance moves where weight affects cost

What items can't be transported by your moving company?

  • Certain cleaning supplies

Additionally, we recommend transporting valuable items like jewelry, cash, important documents, and family heirlooms yourself. For interstate moves, there are additional federal restrictions. Please discuss any concerns with your moving consultant.

What's the best way to prepare for moving day?

To ensure a smooth moving day experience, we recommend:

  • Complete all packing before the movers arrive (unless you've purchased our packing service)
  • Clearly label all boxes with contents and destination room
  • Separate essential items you'll need immediately at your new home
  • Disconnect and prepare all appliances and electronics
  • Remove any items from walls and secure loose items
  • Clear pathways for movers to easily access all rooms

  • Basic Liability Coverage: This complimentary coverage provides protection at $0.60 per pound per article. This means if a 50-pound item is damaged, the reimbursement would be $30, regardless of actual value.
  • Full-Value Protection: This premium option covers the repair, replacement, or cash value of damaged items. The cost is based on the declared value of your shipment.
  • Third-Party Insurance: Additional coverage can be purchased through our partnered insurance providers for high-value items.

We recommend reviewing your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy as it may provide some coverage during relocation. Our moving consultants can explain all protection plans in detail during your estimate.

What happens if something gets damaged during my move?

In the rare event that damage occurs during your move, we have a straightforward claims process:

  1. Note any visible damage on the delivery inventory sheet before the movers leave
  2. Contact our customer service department within 7 days for visible damage or 30 days for hidden damage
  3. Complete our damage claim form with photos and documentation
  4. Our claims department will review your case and respond within 5-7 business days
  5. Resolution may include repair, replacement, or monetary compensation based on your protection plan

Storage Solutions

Do you offer storage services?

Yes, HelpfulMoving.inc provides comprehensive storage solutions to accommodate various needs:

  • Short-Term Storage: Ideal for gaps between move-out and move-in dates (typically 1-90 days)
  • Long-Term Storage: Available for extended periods when downsizing or during extended relocations
  • Climate-Controlled Storage: For sensitive items like antiques, artwork, electronics, and wooden furniture
  • Containerized Storage: Your items are packed into secure containers that remain sealed until delivery

All our storage facilities are secure, monitored 24/7, and accessible with advance notice. We can coordinate pickup and delivery to and from storage as part of your complete moving package.

How accessible is my stuff while in storage?

Access to your items in our storage facilities depends on the storage type:

  • For self-storage units, you'll have access during facility business hours (typically 7am-9pm, 7 days a week)
  • For containerized or warehouse storage, access requires advance notice (24-48 hours) as your items may be stacked or placed in secure areas

We recommend retrieving all needed items before storage or keeping essential items with you. For long-term storage customers, we offer scheduled access visits. Additional access fees may apply for warehouse storage.

Post-Move Support

Do you offer unpacking services?

Yes, HelpfulMoving.inc offers comprehensive unpacking services to help you settle into your new home quickly. Our unpacking services include:

  • Systematic unpacking of all boxes
  • Placement of items according to your direction
  • Basic item arrangement (does not include decorating or detailed organization)
  • Reassembly of furniture that was disassembled for the move
  • Removal of all packing materials and boxes

You can choose full unpacking for your entire home or partial unpacking for specific rooms like the kitchen and bathrooms. Our unpacking services can be added to your moving package at any time, even after your move is underway.

How do I update my address and transfer utilities?

As part of our comprehensive moving services, we provide a moving checklist that includes address change and utility transfer information. We recommend:

  1. Submitting a change of address form with USPS (online or at your local post office) 2 weeks before moving
  2. Contacting utility companies (water, electric, gas, internet) at both locations at least 2 weeks before your move
  3. Scheduling disconnect dates for your current home and connection dates for your new home
  4. Updating your address with important institutions (banks, insurance, employer, schools)
  5. Updating subscriptions, online accounts, and delivery services

For additional assistance, our Premium Move Management service includes a dedicated coordinator who can help manage these transitions and provide a comprehensive moving timeline.
